Specsavers x Carla Zampatti eyewear is here

Strong, sleek and stylish: this defines the new Specsavers x Carla Zampatti eyewear collaboration. For five decades Australian designer and businesswoman Zampatti has made her mark on the fashion scene. Now the iconic designer had added to her repertoire with an exclusive collaboration with Specsavers.

Consisting of eight prescription sunglasses and fourteen optical glasses, the collection reinvents classic styles for the contemporary woman. Graceful frames in soft tones enable the wearer to make a sophisticated statement, while quality craftsmanship ensure longevity. Zampatti wanted to create a range that was bold and purposeful. “I’ve designed a collection I would wear,” she explains. “It is a collection that is both practical and flattering, offering versatile solutions for the office, home or simply a day at the beach. Every occasion, every woman, regardless of age or style.”

The designer says the decision to collaborate with Specsavers came down to her love of sunglasses. “I love sunglasses, I always have,” she admits. “That’s why I partnered with Specsavers, so I had more to wear!”

The eyewear brand felt Zampatti was a natural fit to their goal of making high-end fashion available to all. “Carla Zampatti is an Australian fashion icon and is undeniably one of Australia’s most influential designers. We are so thrilled to welcome her to our designer stable and to be able to offer our customers a range that is a beautiful expression of understated elegance, glamour and above all Carla Zampatti style,” they said.

Award-winning actress Marta Dusseldorp fronts the eyewear collection, chosen by Zampatti because she represents the confident, energetic woman she designs for. Dusseldorp says she was thrilled to be part of the campaign. “As a longstanding Carla Zampatti fan, I was honoured to get the call asking me to be the face of her first glasses collection for Specsavers,” she says. “Just like her clothing the frames are bold yet timeless, and range from a traditional palette of black and white, to feminine pastels and bold splashes of colour. Just like Carla, I love accessories, so I’m having a lot of fun playing with all the different styles.”

Priced from $299 for two pairs single vision, the range is available in all Specsavers’ stores. View some of the campaign images below.

Louis Vuitton x Jeff Koons is back

Following on from the first successful collaboration between American artist Jeff Koons and French fashion house Louis Vuitton, the power couple are returning with a second chapter.

The new collection is a continuation of the first, which was inspired by Koons’s “Gazing Ball” series. Once again, the pieces feature iconic artwork from the art world’s masters. This time around, it’s the creations of Claude Monet, post-impressionist Paul Gauguin, impressionist Édouard Manet, Nicolas Poussin, English romantic J.M.W. Turner and François Boucher that emblazon Louis Vuitton leatherwear.

“They are part of my DNA,” Koons says of the artworks. “When somebody walks down the street with this bag, or sits in a cafe with this bag,” Koons says of the Manet Neverfull,“it’s communicating a love of humanism.”

The collection will be available in-store in New Zealand on 27 October.
