It’s in obvious effect sprinkled throughout the fashion week shows taking place across New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Serving as ideal inspiration for those of us curating our wardrobed for the imminent cooler weather down under, the Autumn/Winter 2025 runways have been awash with layered up satin, lace, fur, paillette sequins. Print has also made an appearance, often as a way of enhancing that depth of dimension to each look.
Perhaps one of the most controversial returns is shaggy or glossy fur, although this time around it’s predominantly the faux stuff on show, a fun way to add warmth this coming season. It was seen in oversized stoles at Prada, long coats at Gucci and even a giant trapper hat at Etro.
Colour too has been much more dominant and bold than the pastel looks of the previous collections.
If you’re looking for that touch of elegance, tailoring and ladylike gloves, both short and long have also been notable appearances.
