Silversea’s Silver Discoverer to set sail from 2014

Silversea’s Silver Discoverer to set sail from 2014
Silversea announces its eighth ship, Silver Discoverer, which will be setting sail to even more remote and stunning destinations from March 2014.

The 128-guest Silver Discoverer is preparing to set sail to Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia, Russian Far East, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

“It’s fitting that, in our 20th anniversary year, our newest ship will continue the Silversea tradition of reaching some of the most remote areas of the world,” commented Enzo Visone, CEO of Silversea. Silver Discoverer will bring our guests even closer to dramatic landscapes, historic locations, and ecologically important destinations – all in the comfort of one of the finest expedition ships operating today with all the trappings that our guests have come to expect of Silversea.”

Aboard the Silver Discoverer, guests will be able to explore the hidden wonders of these rich and diverse regions, including the Kimberley region of Australia. Imagine thundering waterfalls, plunging gorges, Aboriginal rock art, deserted beaches and fewer people per square mile than almost any other place on earth. A flexible itinerary will let you explore remote corners of this natural phenomenon, from Nares Point & Crocodile Creek to Bungle Bungle and the Arafura Sea.

Cruise by Zodiac from April for 11 days through this famous untamed wilderness and witness the tidal change at Montgomery Reef, view King George’s towering twin falls plunging over 551 feet, experience the sheer vastness of Mitchell Falls from a helicopter, photograph the spectacular Bungle Bungles with their black and orange bands. Embark in either Darwin or Broome.

The small-sized ship, the eighth in Silversea’s fleet, will become part of the Silversea Expedition fleet, which already includes Silver Explorer and Silver Galapagos. Since launching in 2008, Silversea Expeditions has established itself as the world’s leading, ultra-luxury expedition cruiseline enabling guests to view extraordinary scenery; get closer to marine life and wildlife; as well as viewing first hand some of the world’s last wildernesses in a manner that is sympathetic to the environment. All this is offered aboard authentic expedition ships with some of the world’s leading expedition experts.
