The 36 year old star, detailed the eclectic wardrobe worn by her character, Lily Bloom, in the film in a new video for Vogue.
Lively has been dressing in a numerous floral-detailed outfits during the film’s press tour as a nod to Bloom, a flower shop owner in the film and the Colleen Hoover book of the same name that the film is based on.

The star told Vogue she found inspiration for Bloom’s wardrobe in ‘It Ends with Us’ by considering some of the fashion choices made by her husband Ryan Reynolds and close friend, model Gigi Hadid. Lively was speaking to Vogue while making her recipe for key lime pie on camera.
“So for It Ends with Us, I really like the way my husband dresses and I really like the way Gigi Hadid dresses, which is an odd mash-up I’m sure,” she explained of the bold outfit choices for the film.
“I think that the wardrobe was a really critical part of that storytelling and I’m really proud of it.”
She shared the outfits were made up of “a tonne of Bode and vintage” saying it was some of her favourite character wardrobe’s she’s ever worn,” Blake continued. “It’s just so expressive and so eclectic and really gives you such a sense of the character.”
Bode is a US ‘zero waste’ label that produces one of a kind, handcrafted clothing using fabric recycled from antique fabrics, Victorian quilts, grain sacks, and even bed linens. The label has been worn by many celebrities including Lorde, Jay-Z, Olivia Wilde, and Harry Styles.
In the film Lively reunites with costume designer Eric Daman, who also worked on hit TV show ‘Gossip Girl’ with the star.
Daman told People that the character of Lily, “sees beauty where other people don’t.”
In particular Daman mentioned the Bode patchwork coat Lily wears in a number of scenes.
“That jacket specifically just felt so unique and so beautiful and it had such an artisanal beauty to it,” the costume designer says. “Not everyone saw the beauty in it the way that Blake and I did, and I think that was a great testament to how Lily sees things. It kind of became a touchstone and kind of a hero piece for her.
Daman said Lively had significant input, sending ideas for the outfits worn by her character.
“She wanted Lily to have a unique, very special kind of look. Because everyone is aware that it’s Blake and I back together again after 10 years and we have a track record that we want to keep up. So it was important that there was a cool factor to this character.”
