Sarah Jessica Parker has proved she's still New York's fashion darling by recreating this iconic fashion moment.

Sex in the City might have aired its finale episode 15 years ago now, but the star of the series, Sarah Jessica Parker, is still proving that she’s the queen of the New York fashion scene.

On Friday, Sarah Jessica Parker, channelled her former on-screen persona, Carrie Bradshaw, when she stepped out of her West Village townhouse in a head-turning electric pink gown to attend the New York City Ballet Gala.

The 80s-inspired gown was designed by one of Parker’s go-to designers,  Zac Posen and featured billowing sleeves and a voluminous layered skirt. Parker teamed the breathtaking gown with a slicked-back updo and a vibrant blue eyeshadow.

However, it was Sarah Jessica Parker’s footwear choice that had Sex in the City fans reminiscing about a certain iconic Carrie Bradshaw fashion moment.

Underneath the layers of the bright fuchsia gown, were a pair of two mismatched sandals from the actress’s eponymous shoe line, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker.  On one foot Parker wore a golden-yellow satin slingback and on the other, she wore a slightly different style in an electric pink shade to match the colour of her Zac Posen gown.

Sex in the City fans will have picked up on the fact that Parker’s latest fashion statement pays tribute to the iconic moment from the show’s “Escape From New York” episode which aired 19 years ago.

Instagram account @everyoutfitonsatc sparked a debate earlier in the year when it questioned whether Carrie had bought the mismatched Louboutins straight off the rack or if they had been worn together as a style choice.

To clear up the matter Parker took to Instagram herself and confirmed that it was an intentional styling move. “We had 2 pairs of what I believe are @louboutinworld scrappy sandals,” the Parker wrote in a comment on @everyoutfitonsatc’s Instagram page, misspelling “strappy.”

“Pat and I chose to do 1 of each. Perhaps because both were so delicious in color and seemed in harmony with the dress but also because we simply loved doing 1 of each.”
