The 61-year-old has just joined the platform and already has more than 4.8 million followers.
The star wasted no time having a bit of fun with it, posting a couple of playful clips and getting amongst the comment sections of her famous friends.
Her first post shows her playfully starting a blender as if by ‘magic.’ It may be a playful sign of her arrival’s timing, given she has just launched promotion for the upcoming Practical Magic 2. The movie, in which she reprises her role as witch Sally Owens alongside actresses including Nicole Kidman, is a sequel to the 1998 cult classic.
Indeed her second post shows her sharing a hug, a cocktail, and time on stage with Kidman while attending this week’s CinemaCon. The pair were kicking off the marketing for the witchy film, which is scheduled to be released on Sept. 18 of this year.
The occasion marked Bullock’s first red carpet appearance in four years. It comes following the death of her long-time partner Bryan Randall, at the age of 57 in 2023, following a three-year battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Over on the social media platform, Bullock didn’t just rest at posting, it appears she is catching up on other’s updates too, using emojis in the Instagram comments section to mark her approval.
She left a playful remark on a post about former The Lost City costar Channing Tatum once buying a year’s supply of shirts to avoid doing laundry.
“Of course you did, @channingtatum,” adding a wink emoji.
She also left a remark on on Joey King’s picture of the two at a Coldplay concert, which had been shared in September 2025. “My blood. Your blood. Our blood. iykyk,” she wrote, adding a magic wand and red love heart emoji.
Jennifer Anniston was among those welcoming Bullock star to Instagram, writing on her Instagram Stories that “someone we really all love very much just joined Instagram.”

Last year the mother-of-two revealed others were impersonating her on the platform.
“Please be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media,” she said via a statement to People magazine. “Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me.”
“My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern, and there will be a time when I will comment more, but for now our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter,” Bullock added.
