Big bags have been in our thoughts lately, after one designer after another turns out a roomy carry-all.
While we love them all, the latest release is particularly covetable.
Designed by Anthony Vaccarello for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Saint Laurent’s new Y bag hits all the desirable notes for summer: Oversized, slightly soft and slouchy, tan (though it also comes in black) and with handles that perfectly hook into the crook of the elbow.
It’s the way Angelina Jolie wore hers while strolling though New York’s JFK Airport recently, and other stars including Bella Hadid and Zoë Kravitz have been loading theirs up too.
The Y bag is equally recognisable as it is minimalist – devoid of the brand’s iconic Cassandre YSL-logo hardware, but with a subtle air of ‘if you know, you know’ style.
Since the 70s, the Y letter is one of the house’s iconic codes – a similar shape dominates the men’s cologne, also known as Y – and it is now being woven into the modern fabric of the brand.
The bag also comes in a fabric and tan leather trim for a lighter option also ideal for the warmer weather.
