Princess of wales and children arrive at wimbledon 2026
The Royal Family delighted fans with their appearance at the Final match

The final day of The Championships at Wimbledon brought not just the thrill of world-class tennis. It also brought a healthy dose of royal charm.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. She arrived at SW19 on Sunday (July 12) alongside her husband, Prince William. Their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were also in attendance.

The royal family’s arrival was met with cheers as they made their way into the grounds. Afterwards, they took their seats in the prestigious Royal Box on Centre Court. The family was out in full force to witness the highly anticipated men’s singles final. In the final, world number one and defending champion Jannik Sinner successfully held onto his title. He defeated second seed Alexander Zverev 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4.

Royal Style at SW19

Never one to disappoint on the fashion front, the Princess of Wales looked elegant in an olive green cape dress by Emilia Wickstead. It featured delicate flutter sleeves. She accessorised the look with drop earrings and brown point-toe heels.

Princess Charlotte, looking every bit the poised young royal, wore a sweet knee-length blue dress with capped sleeves. Meanwhile, Prince William and Prince George looked dapper in matching navy suits.

The family’s appearance on Sunday followed Kate’s solo visit the day prior (July 11), where she attended the ladies’ singles final. During her Saturday visit, the Princess wore a striking red belted dress by Roland Mouret as she greeted players, officials, and volunteers. Later, the Princess presented the winner's trophy to 21-year-old Czech star Linda Nosková. Nosková claimed her first Grand Slam title against Karolína Muchová.

A Star-Studded Royal Box and a Meaningful Encounter

The Waleses were in good company in the Royal Box, which was packed with a constellation of stars and dignitaries for the tournament’s thrilling conclusion. Hollywood heavyweights such as Dustin Hoffman, Nicole Kidman, Rami Malek, and Ben Stiller were spotted taking in the action. Alongside them were Vogue’s Anna Wintour and actress Sienna Miller.

Following Sinner’s impressive victory over Zverev, the royal family enjoyed a private and extended chat with the Italian champion inside the stadium.

“Fantastic achievement,” Kate told Sinner as he clutched his golden trophy. “It’s really inspiring to the children to see tennis at that level.”

Sinner, who had a similar encounter with the royals following his win in the final last year, asked the young prince and princess how often they take to the court themselves.

“Not every day, but weekends,” Prince George shared.

Reflecting on the meeting, Sinner expressed his appreciation for the family’s dedication to the sport. “You can really see that they love the sport,” he said. “This is exactly how we feel as players on court when we see them watching tennis. Staying there for four hours under the sun with the heat, it’s really nice… That’s also the reason why we love to play tennis.”
