Royal New Zealand Ballet to broadcast A Midsummer Night’s Dream over Easter
The Royal New Zealand Ballet will be live in your living room once again this weekend as it streams another one of its magnificent performances.

The RNZB is offering a free broadcast of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for ballet lovers to enjoy this Easter weekend.

Lovers, fairies, mischief and moonlight conspire in Shakespeare’s classic tale, vividly retold with dazzling dance and Mendelssohn’s famous score.

Viewers will watch a performance from 2015 starring the original cast of the RNZB and Queensland Ballet co-production.

The production was choreographed by Liam Scarlett, with distinguished New Zealand designer Tracy Grant Lord creating the glorious vision of Shakespeare’s iconic characters and enchanted wood.

Dancers from the company will be watching the broadcast too, available to answer any questions viewers may have during the performance.

The shows will be streamed on Facebook Premiere at the following times:

  • Friday 10 April, 7.30pm
  • Saturday 11 April, 1.30pm
  • Sunday 12 April, 10.30am
