Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia Have Made Their Instagram Account Public

After the hype of Meghan and Harry’s wedding it’s normal to feel a little gloomy, due to the decrease of royal updates (sort of like the post-Christmas blues). But it’s time to turn that frown upside down, because everyone’s other favourite royal couple have just created an Instagram account, and it is everything we dreamed it would be.

Prince Carl Philip of Sweden and his wife, Princess Sofia, have let the world into their world via their Instagram handle @prinsparet. Announcing their account change from private to public, they said, “Welcome to our official Instagram account. As you can see, we have already posted photos for a while to give you an insight into our work, the tasks we carry out and above all the issues we are passionate about. Hope you want to follow us!

For those of you who need a little reminder, Prince Carl Philip, Duke of Värmland, and his wife, Princess Sofia, Duchess of Värmland were the very attractive young Swedish royal couple who wed in 2015. Prince Carl is the only son of Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, but he is no longer heir to the throne, as after his birth, Sweden passed absolute primogeniture laws that forever transferred the line of succession to his sister, Crown Princess Victoria. Born Sofia Hellqvist, Princess Sofia was a model before kissing her Prince, meeting over lunch one day.

Their captions may not be in English but their photos are enough. If you need any further convincing, the couple had pop rocks in their wedding cake, so if that isn’t cool we’re not really sure what is.

Sunsmart and Stylish: The Queen Rocks Sunglasses at Palace Garden Party

As fate may have it, it seems another victim has fallen captive to the tiny sunglasses fashion trend.

She’s 92, lives in London and has a rather big thing for corgis.

You guessed it, it’s the Queen. Channelling her inner-rockstar on Thursday at a Buckingham Palace tea party, the Queen wore a stylish pair of shades accompanied by a pretty blue frock.

The style icon was also joined by her grandson, Prince William, and her granddaughter, Princess Eugenie. The garden party was an event recognising the work of hundreds of community leaders, and the royals mingled like true heroes, stopping to chat to individuals and small groups. Prince William wore a formal suit and the bride-to-be, Princess Eugenie, opted for a simple navy number by Palmer//Harding.

As it turns out, we’re not the only ones who are a big fan of the Queen. Supporters stood in crowds four-deep in the hope of catching a glimpse of Her Majesty, jostling for the best angle to snap the winning photo. Fair enough too, the sunsmart Queen is too good not to capture.
