Starting from 2025, it will be possible to propose during an intimate dinner held in space.
Operating a dedicated service for extravagant marriage proposal planning, French agency ApoteoSurprise is adding the offering to its packages.
On board a space capsule lifted by a stratospheric balloon, ApoteoSurprise says lovers will have the opportunity to savour an exceptional meal prepared by a French Michelin-starred chef and served by an AI-powered robot.
The company says the futuristic space capsule is equipped with 360° views and top-notch amenities, while the couple will be attended to by StellarEmbrace, a robot that ApoteoSurprise developed in collaboration with a British startup.
In a release, it explains how the couple will experience a two hour journey into the sky, lifted by a helium-inflated stratospheric balloon.
“At an altitude of 35 kilometers, the space module will be above 99% of Earth’s atmosphere, allowing the couple to gaze at the curvature of the Earth, its blue halo, and the total darkness of space. Like only 600 astronauts before them, the lovers will experience the overview effect, a cognitive shift that will redefine their view of the world and connect them to all of humanity.”
After a five-course gourmet dinner is served and the big question is popped, the couple can expect to descend slowly back to earth over a further two hours.
The idea is the latest in ApoteoSurprise’s marriage proposal ideas. Founded in 2006 by the aeronautical engineer Nicolas Garreau, the company offers 30 proposal packages. These include the appearance of Cinderella’s carriage with a magical slipper, a shower of 1000 roses covering a yacht during a dinner cruise, the sending of a messenger dove to one’s beloved, and a limousine tour with a declaration of love displayed at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
