Richard Quinn’s recent London Fashion Week show included the clear confirmation pastels are back in the beauty world.
While the wunderkind British fashion designer’s F/W23 show was full of signature bold botanical prints and clashing technicolor, the makeup look included a halo of soft pastel hues on models’ eyes.
In Milan, Prada too was dipping into the milky hues. Star makeup artist Pat McGrath adorned models including Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, with fluttering false lashes in shades of pastel peach, khaki, blue, pink, yellow, and mint green.
Giving you an easy option to dive into the look is Quinn’s brand new collaboration collection with M.A.C, just landed on counters.
Items from the M.A.C. by Richard Quinn collection.
Launched to coincide with Quinn’s London Fashion Week show, the range comes adorned with a garden of riotous hues and includes a palette of delicate pastels for the eyes, a blush duo that offers a hint of flattering bronze, a shimmering metalic powder, setting spray, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick in four rosebud hues.
In explaining his choice for the look in the show, directed by makeup artist Terry Barber, Quinn said he was enamoured by a kind of ‘a doll-like’ beauty.
‘The obvious choice for us was to go really bold, but we wanted to do it in a softer, more beautiful way. We tried to show in the new collection that you can do a statement eye but it has that frosted look in a modern way,’ Quinn told ELLE UK.
The new M.A.C. by Richard Quinn collection includes packaging emblazoned with a bold floral Quinn print.
