Rafael Nadal is the latest male star to embrace a beauty sideline, with the launch of a fragrance collaboration.
Instead of creating his own brand, Nadal, currently ranked the world’s no. 2 tennis player on the official ATP rankings, has collaborated with French fragrance house Henry Jacques on two new perfumes, Les Brumes Rafael Nadal N°1 and N°2.
In an unusual – and romantic – twist Spanish star Nadal’s has undertaken the collaboration with Henry Jacques alongside his wife, Maria Francesca Perello, who has also released a perfume, Maria Perello in Brumes and Essences. The perfumes were originally made for the couple’s personal use, before the decision was made to release them for the public as well.
The three launches are collectively called the In All Intimacy collection by the luxury perfumer.
Nadal and Perello are teenage sweethearts and were together for 17 years before they wed in 2019.
“We’re taking the next step in our lives now, though, so we thought—why not do something together?” Nadal told Vogue, referring to both the birth of their first child, a son, last month, and the new releases.

Nadal is said to have taken overall inspiration for his scents from the sparkling blue waters of his native Mallorca.
“As a person practicing sport every single day of my life, almost, after showering I need the fragrance to help me recover, for me to feel clean and fresh,” he explained of his motivation.
“If I take a shower and I don’t have fragrance with me, I don’t feel complete. It’s been a part of my life for a long time.”
According to Vogue one scent is designed to be worn while playing tennis and contains bright, energetic notes of coriander and lemon, Spanish artemisia plant, cedarwood and leather. The second is a heavier scent to wear during more personal moments, with floral notes and a subtle zing of citrus and freesia.
Perello’s elegant blend contains notes of violet and orange blossom, bergamot and jasmine, on a base of sandalwood and white musk.
The In All Intimacy collection is available at Henry Jacques boutiques worldwide.
