Their state visit takes place from 14-19 March and they’re accompanied by Denmark’s Climate Minister and a large Danish business delegation.
“The state visit aims to further strengthen the already strong relations between Australia and Denmark across cultural, economic, and foreign policy areas,” their website states.
“Building on the strategic partnership established in 2023, the visit will promote collaboration in areas including the green transition and economic security.
“Green transition will be a key focus, with 55 Danish companies participating in the business initiative Partnering for a Green, Secure, and Sustainable Tomorrow, highlighting renewable energy and energy-efficient urban development.
“Nature and cultural preservation will also feature as part of the programme.”

Saturday, 14 March
Uluṟu, Northern Territory
Welcome by the First Nations Community
Their Majesties took part in a formal welcome at the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park Cultural Centre, before making a visit to Kulata Academy Café where they met students who work there as part of a National Indigenous Training Academy programme. The academy offers paid internships and traineeships in tourism and hospitality for Indigenous young people from across Australia.Â
That evening they experienced sunset at Uluṟu, before visit Muṯitjulu Waterhole at sunrise on Sunday morning.
Sunday, 15 March
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
Ceremonial Welcome by the Governor-General
The King and Queen will be welcomed at Government House Canberra by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia Sam Mostyn and her partner Simeon Beckett.Â
State Banquet
The official state banquet will be held at Government House, hosted by the Governor-General and her partner. The Governor-General will deliver a speech, followed by a speech from The King.
Monday, 16 March
Canberra, Australian Capital Territory
Wreath-laying at the War Memorial
Their Majesties, accompanied by Governor-General Sam Mostyn and her partner, will honour the service of the Australian Defence Forces in wars and international missions since World War I.
Following the ceremony, The King and Queen will take a short walk in front of the monument.
Meeting with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese
Their Majesties will meet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. At Parliament House, The King and Queen will also be introduced to selected works from Indigenous Works, part of the Australian Parliament House art collection.
Meeting with the Denmark-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group
The King and Queen will meet with members of this parliamentary group, representing all Australian states and territories.
Opening of the Danish-Australian Life Science Event
Their Majesties will officially open a conference highlighting government, business, and research collaboration in innovation, prevention, and health solutions, showcasing Danish-Australian partnerships and Denmark’s leadership in life sciences.
