Queen extends Christmas dinner invite to Meghan Markle’s mum

Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly extended a rare invitation to Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, asking her to join the royal family for Christmas dinner.

Meghan Markle’s mum could be spending Christmas Day with the royal family after claims the Queen extended the invite to her new in-law.

Just months on from Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry, Doria Ragland has reportedly been asked to Sandringham, Her Majesty’s country estate in Norfolk.

According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Sussex could be staying with the royals at Norfolk Estate over the festive season.

A senior royal source said the offer was a “very thoughtful gesture” — and an unusual one.

If Doria does attend the royal Christmas dinner, it will be unprecedented – not even Kate Middleton’s parents have been asked to stay at the estate.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s mother and father have been present at church services attended by the royals on Christmas morning, but have stayed elsewhere.

The Daily Mail reports that a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the Christmas arrangements.
