The new year is a great time to put your wellness goals into action, whether you want to improve your fitness, get more sleep or realign your diet.
For a balanced diet, you need the right types and amounts of foods and drinks. These will vary depending on your age, gender, size and activity level, but in general you should aim to incorporate food from the five food groups (vegetables, legumes and beans; fruit; grains; lean meat and poultry; dairy) into every meal. Set yourself achievable goals every day, whether it’s substituting your current snacks for hummus or yoghurt or using only fresh produce in your main meals.
