Netflix casts unknown actress, Emma Corrin, to play Princess Diana in ‘The Crown’ season four.
Newcomer Emma Corrin has been cast as Princess Diana in the The Crown. Corrin will portray the late Princess of Wales in the fourth series of the streaming giant’s hugely popular British drama.

Netflix confirmed the decision in a press release, adding filming will begin later this year. The Grantchester actor is said to have “immediately captivated” casting directors.
Corrin said she was “beyond excited and honoured”.
“I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal. Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To be given the chance to explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity, and I will strive to do her justice.”
The actress is set to make her film debut in Misbehavior, a historical drama following a group of of women from the Women’s Liberation Movement as they attempt to disrupt the 1970 Miss World beauty competition in London.
She joins a cast including Olivia Colman who replaces Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth in the third series, to be screened later this year, and Helena Bonham Carter who is to play Princess Margaret.
