A feature-length film detailing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s romance is in development. Announcing the production, cable network Lifetime said the film will be called Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story and will trace the couple’s relationship from its origins to the recent engagement.
Relevant issues including unwanted media attention and criticism of Meghan as a divorced African American actress will be explored, Lifetime stated. Menhaj Huda has been selected as the film’s director, with Michele Weiss and Merideth Finn as executive producers.
The release date for Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story is undetermined, but it is expected the film will premiere prior to the wedding on May 19th. William & Kate: The Movie was released 11 days before the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married in 2011.
Casting is currently underway for lead actors.
