There must be something in the air. Princess Charlotte speaks her first word publicly on Canadian Royal Tour.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been staying behind on most of their Will and Kate’s outings throughout the Canadian Tour, but the pair were treated to an afternoon of fun to mark day six of the tour.

Three year old George and his 16-month-old sister Charlotte, were invited to a garden party to celebrate their visit, along with children from military families in Victoria, Canada.

The pair were honoured in a special reception held in the grounds of Government House – where the family have been based during their stay.

According to People, Princess Charlotte was enjoying the festivities, running around shouting “pop pop!” and calling Prince William “Dada”. Up until this day, the tiniest royal was yet to speak her first word publicly.

Princess Charlotte and Prince George also enjoyed the company of the resident dog “Moose” with the pair cuddling and patting the friendly dog. A Nubian goat, two miniature horses, some rabbits, a St John’s Ambulance therapy dog and a golden retreiver also joined in the festivities.

The gathering was attended by 24 children and 24 adults from the Military Family Resource Centre.

A palace spokesperson said: “The Duke and Duchess are really pleased to have this opportunity to introduce their children to Canada and it’s great that they have the chance to play with other children while they are here.”
