Poem: Saffron Sands

By Sonya J. Young

poem saffron fields

Saffron Sands

Sow your seeds

in the cinnamon earth

And let the turmeric

sun kiss your shoulders

Climb the nutmeg branches

And rake up their

paprika leaves

Walk through deserts

Of saffron sands

And gaze at the

Vanilla clouds

Listen to the

liquorice thunder

Breathe in the scent

Of clove roses

With peppercorn pebbles

Between your toes

Then rest in

Oregano fields

Before floating away

On a peppermint river

Please remember to…

Take your thyme
