Pop singer Pink has defended herself after a picture she posted of her children 'playing' at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin divided fans online.

The “Just Like Fire” singer has clapped back at social media critics who tried to mom-shame her Instagram photo.

In the image, it appears that her daughter Willow, 8, and son Jameson, 2, are running through the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, Germany.

“Τhis place is not definitely a hide and seek place, dear Pink,” one person wrote.

Pink responded with a caption which began “Berlin, I love you. #holocaustmemorial #panamarestaurant #cocktailclasses #history #herstory #worldtour.”

She was accused of “disrespect” by some, who said she should teach her children to “respect the place”.

“The very person who constructed this believed in children being children, and to me this is a celebration of life after death. Please keep your hatred and judgment to yourselves,” the singer said in response to the comments.

While Pink had received some critical comments from her Instagram followers, others praised her for the image, with actress Selma Blair writing: “I love Berlin too. I love that what happened is not being forgotten. I love this celebration of life. I love you.”

“And for all of the comments; these two children are in actuality Jewish, as am I and the entirety of my mothers family,” Pink went on to say.

“Peter Eisenman (the architect) said he wanted visitors to the memorial to behave freely, and has said he can imagine it as a place where children play between the pillars or picnic on the fringes. He has made it clear that he wants it to be a part of every day life rather than a holy place,” one of Pink’s fans wrote.

In April, Pink said that she would no longer post photos of her children after receiving criticism for sharing a photograph of her two-year-old song, Jameson, not wearing a nappy.
