Explore one of the purest and best preserved Aboriginal traditions, visual languages and weaving techniques.

PET Lamp returns with its sixth project, a co-design work with in-house brand, ACdO, and Indigenous artist weavers from Ramingining, at the NGV Triennial starting from 15th of December 2017 until 15th of April 2018. PET Lamp is a consolidated project that merges the reuse of PET plastic bottles with selected traditional weaving techniques from different corners of the world in order to create two woven ceiling lamps commissioned by the Gallery.

PET Lamp is a consolidated project that merges the reuse of PET plastic bottles with selected traditional weaving techniques from different corners of the world in order to create unique handmade lampshades. With a valuable repertory of lampshades, weaving techniques, materials, patterns and cultural experiences in different areas of South America, Africa and Asia, PET Lamp is commissioned by the NGV to replicate the previous experiences by working together with Indigenous artist weavers from Oceania.
