The 'I Am Patrick Swayze' trailer is out - and it will make fans smile and cry in fast succession.

Patrick Swayze’s friends, co-stars and loved ones remember the late actor in the new trailer for Paramount Network’s documentary I Am Patrick Swayze.

In the bittersweet trailer, the many shades of Patrick Swayze are revealed through interviews and his most memorable big-screen moments — the Soiled Dancing elevate, the pottery scene in Ghost and skydiving in Level Break – play out once more.

Along with his personal archival interviews, his co-stars together with Demi Moore, Jennifer Gray, The Outsiders’s Rob Lowe and C. Thomas Howell and Highway Home’s Sam Elliott and Kelly Lynch are amongst those to share recollections.

His Ghost co-star Demi Moore calls Swayze a someone who “needed to work harder” to be taken seriously in Hollywood and praises the duality for which he became known.
“Patrick had something about him that was very rugged but that also had that beautiful, gentle, sensuous ability to move,” she said.

The trailer hints at a darker side to the actor. Swayze’s widow, Lisa Niemi says, “He’d be bubbly and fun, and as soon as he’s by himself and alone, he would just crash.”

“I have these demons that run around in my insides,” Swayze says in another clip.

Youngblood co-star Lowe closes out the trailer: “What Patrick accomplished in his life, very few people get to accomplish.”

“I Am Patrick Swayze” debuts on the Paramount Network on August 18.
