While the northern hemisphere is beginning its slide into autumn, it’s clear designers are already dreaming of a playful, and somewhat serene summer in 2025.

Be it tailored suiting – of which there is plenty – or slip shifts heaving with sequins, tones of mint, lilac, pink and lemon were in abundance. It shows our recent favour for buttercream yellow will extend well into next year, if you’re looking for a sign to invest in a new piece or two.
Emilia Wickstead’s elegant, considered and precise designs kept their clean lines, but came in pretty pastel hues. Many featured a number of different floral motifs, both in printed form and in 3-D embellishment, one style with dripping and dangling clear crystals attached.
Crystal detailing sewn as repeating features across sheer, washed-out pastels was a big feature of Kim Jones’ Spring / Summer 2025 collection for Fendi. The approach extended to stunning handbags featuring a gathered and slouchy shape, best with sparkling pink adornments across soft suede.
At Burberry the feminine colours were given a cool London edge, by being paired with utilitarian jackets and coats, perhaps in consideration of London’s notoriously unpredictable summer weather.
It may seem like we’re repeating ourselves but such is the similarity in some of the themes running through collections. Erdem’s glorious Spring / Summer show highlighted elongated slip-like silhouettes, tailored matching macaroon-coloured suits and plenty of luxe crystal beading.
