Never too old to bust a move!
The world's oldest hip hop group shows us it's never to late to follow your passion

Although these dancers make up the oldest hip hop group in the world, they are anything but ageing. For these youngsters hip hop is a way of life they have chosen to follow to their very core.

Calling themselves The Hip Op-eration Crew, this dance troupe consists of 37 senior citizens, ranging in age from 65 to over 90.

Hailing from Waiheke Island, New Zealand, their ensemble features men and women of all talents – including a 96 year old in a wheelchair, and over 10 members in their late 80’s and early 90’s. If you ask us, that’s pretty impressive to say the least.

The group recently performed at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships, alongside dancers from over 35 countries. Let’s just say they absolutely nailed it.

As their facebook page points out, the daring dancers began their group and joined the world of urban street dancing after expressing their desire to “build a stronger connection with young people.” As well as this, they are hoping to bring about a societal shift in peoples perceptions of the elderly.

We think they’re pretty amazing. Watch their video below.
