The festival showcases the best adventure books and films on the world’s most remote places, the environment, and adventure sports, and also features guest speakers, readings, seminars, book signings and launches.
The 2026 programme is packed with 13 inspiring speakers, 63 incredible films, 17 world premieres and a strong lineup of NZ premieres.
The NZ Mountain Film & Book Festival has been a highlight of the community calendar for 24 years, drawing Queenstown Lakes District locals and visitors from across New Zealand.
Since 2012, the festival has operated as a charitable trust, raising funds for causes like youth adventure training, assisting people with disabilities to enjoy the outdoors, and supporting environmental projects.
Funds are raised through auctions and a national tour, with grant applications opening on July 1.
