Quiz master Cody Cross, has created the ultimate quiz, claiming that only the smartest people will get at least 21 of the spellings right.
The quiz is comprised of 24 questions, giving the player a chance to select one of two answers. A challenge is set by the quiz master, posing the question, “Will you get an ‘A+’ in this tricky spelling quiz? You will if you score at least 21/24.”
English is known to be a rather challenging language when it comes to spelling. Unlike Spanish and Japanese, which have regular patterns of spelling and pronunciation, English as we know it is a Frankenstein of languages, a hodgepodge of words from German, French, Latin, and Greek. Words with Latin and Greek roots are especially tricky as there are a lot of rules in some particular words, and in other instances, there’s a lot of rules that are also broken. Sometimes it might be tempting to go for obscure lettering, but most of the time the most effective strategy is to guess the simplest answer.
