While they don’t generally attract as much attention as the womenswear equivalent, the shows heralding new collections for men from the world’s top luxury labels can be quietly influential.
Trends in menswear are typically slower to shift, but the latest shows from Milan and Paris show a fresh move to a brighter and more varied colour palette.
Of course, it could be the fact the garments revealed are part of brand’s spring/summer collections, but it’s not just crisp whites and cotton-knits being reached for, but clear, bright colour blocking as well as colourful prints in lightweight suiting, technical fabrics and even coloured leather.
Louis Vuitton men’s creative director, Pharrell Williams, wove fashion elements from India into his spring-summer 2026 collection and even wore silky lilac shorts and a grass-green tee under a grey sweater as he took his runway bow.
“What we were inspired by from India were the colors,” Williams told WWD backstage before the show. “You’ll see turmeric in the line. You’ll see cinnamon. You’ll see ‘coffee indigo’ denim.”
Saint Laurent too, showed full-colour suiting in mustard, burnt orange and grape.
Prada extended that bright colour to layering pieces under more neutral separates as well as colourful bucket-hats and accessories, such as two-tone nylon backpacks and day bags.
Parisian label 3.Paradis embraced the tones of dester sands too. “Our main character is trapped in the desert looking for a way out, and is going round in circles looking for purpose,” said the 3.Paradis designer backstage. “In the desert time goes slowly.”
