To prepare her for a potential terrorist attack, the British SAS staged a mock training exercise with Meghan Markle which involved ‘kidnapping’ the soon-t0-be-royal. Meghan spent two days with Britain’s elite special forces in the Herefordshire countryside undergoing the same intensive training that Princess Diana went through before marrying Prince Charles.
The exercise is intended to prepare Meghan for life in the royal family. A former SAS officer told The Daily Express the training sessions are brutal and “devised to frighten the life out of anyone”. He added that: “Even though Meghan will have known the enemy was not real, I guarantee that she will have been petrified. That’s why live ammo is used, so she knows what real gunfire sounds like should, God forbid, she ever be in a hostile situation.”
Former Army intelligence officer Gerald Moor said it is likely Meghan will have been taught how to form a relationship with kidnappers. “Meghan will have found the experience physically and psychologically gruelling”, he added.
Prince Harry accompanied Meghan on her two-day training exercise. His fiance has been under 24/7 guard since the couple’s engagement announcement and it is expected that 30 elite SAS troops will be present at the wedding on May 19 to protect the happy couple.
