We’re so excited to welcome Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Down Under on their two-week royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji.

Although Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s official itinerary is fairly jam-packed, we have a few secret Sydney destinations they should do their best to squeeze in before they head back home to England.

  1. Nutcote – Children’s books featuring bush babies Snugglepot and Cuddlepie’ were an intrinsic part of many Australian childhoods. Nutcote at Neutral Bay is the former home of May Gibbs, the author and illustrator who created this mischievous duo and today it houses a museum relating to all things Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Meghan and Harry can also purchase some S and C memorabilia at the museum shop – we’re sure royal nephews and niece, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would just adore them!
  2. Vaucluse House – this beautiful 19th century stately home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs is one of very few still surrounded by its original 11 hectares of gardens and wooded grounds. Megan and Harry can explore its restored delights then enjoy a scrummy high tea together in the garden teahouse.
  3. Parsley Bay – a gorgeous little harbor beach just around the corner from Vaucluse House, PB is “one of Woollahra’s best-kept secrets” and is the perfect spot for a romantic glass of champagne on the sand and a little bit of quiet couple time.
  4. Queen Victoria Building – one of Sydney’s prettiest shopping centres, the QVB was built in the late 1800s and named for Harry’s great-great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria. Originally designed as a marketplace, this four-level shopping centre was given an $86 million makeover in the 1980s and now features dozens of high-end stores. We can recommend Haigh’s chocolates where the Royals can treat themselves from Australia’s oldest family-owned chocolate maker, the Aboriginal Art Galleries for indigenous artwork, Ugg for some ‘traditional’ Aussie footwear, and Aussie designers like Camilla, Alannah Hill and Leona Edmiston for iconic home-grown fashionwear.
  5. Barefoot bowls at Clovelly Bowling Club – the latest hipster sport, trendy royals Meghan and Harry would fit right in at this iconic ‘bowlo’, where they lay claim to the best harbor views in Sydney. After a game, the Royal couple can even partake of a regular Aussie barbie and a few refreshing local ales.
