Meeting with Australia’s Governor-General, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were given their first gift for Baby Sussex.

Meghan Markle has this morning been seen for the first time since her pregnancy announcement at the start of her Royal Tour Down Under with Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were officially welcomed to Australia at Sydney’s Admiralty House by Governor-General Sir Peter Crosgrove and his wife Lynn, Lady Cosgrove. The welcome saw the royal couple presented with their first baby gift.

The Duchess, thanking them, said: “Our first baby gift!” They were also given a pair of baby Uggs which the Duke declared “awesome”.

The mum-to-be was glowing in a fitted white sleeveless dress by Australian designer Karen Gee. Aptly named the “Blessed” dress, it features a simple, structured fit designed to contour the body for a sleek silhouette and retails for $1,800. She paired the look with suede pumps.

The Duke and Duchess will then travel to Taronga Zoo to officially open the new Taronga Institute of Science and Learning. During this visit, which will also be attended by the New South Wales (NSW) Premier, The Duke and Duchess will meet two koalas and their joeys that are part of the Zoo’s breeding programme, and visit the laboratory to meet female conservation scientists who are working on efforts to reduce illegal wildlife trafficking.
