Prince Harry and Megan Markle have chosen the flavour of their wedding cake. The couple will enjoy an organic lemon and elderflower cake covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers.
Californian pastry chef and food writer Claire Ptak, who owns the Violet Bakery in east London, has been commissioned to create the cake. Ptak, who was previously interviewed by Markle for her former lifestyle blog, The Tig, said she is excited to bake for the royal wedding. “Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and most importantly flavour, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of”, she told BBC.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will marry on May 19 at St.George’s Chaple.
