Meghan Markle has delivered a heartfelt speech to the students of Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, her former high school.

In the address, Markle said  ‘I wasn’t sure what I could say to you. I wanted to say the right thing and I was really nervous that it would get picked apart. And I realised the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing’.

‘George Floyd’s life mattered and Brenna Taylor’s life mattered and Philando Castile’s life mattered and Tamir Rice’s life mattered’.

The other three people she mentions were killed by US police over the past six years.

‘What we have seen in our country, our state and in our hometown of LA has been absolutely devastating,’ she continued. Markle moved to LA with Prince Harry and Baby Archie earlier this year after stepping down as Senior Members of the Royal Family.

Celebrities are coming out in force to support protesters who have gathered across the United States to demonstrate against police killings.

But not everyone is being praised for how they have approached the unrest. A number of stars have been criticised for their responses, or lack thereof.
