The multi-brand retailer, that carries a large range of sought-after brands like Glossier, NARS and Charlotte Tilbury, will significantly increase the beauty options for shoppers in the central Otago region.
MECCA has begun recruiting for staff for a store opening in Queenstown, with roles like store operations manager, skin specialist/beauty therapist and makeup artists currently being advertised online.
However fans of the top makeup, skincare and fragrance lines will have to wait a little longer. A representative from the company, based in Melbourne, Australia, said that while the brand was indeed opening in the resort town, they wouldn’t be drawn on a confirmed opening date or location. As the development was ‘still in the initial planning stages’ the representative was unable to confirm if doors will open this side of Christmas.
Dunedin MECCA fans should get excited however. The representative confirmed a MECCA Dunedin store is slated to open in November, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.
Earlier reports tipped the beauty boutique to be headed for Dunedin’s George St retail area.
Luxury fashion options in central Otago are also about to get a boost as Auckland boutique MUSE extends its reach with a new boutique in tourist town Arrowtown, near Queenstown.
Founded in 1996, and led by Olivia Vincent Healy, MUSE is an exclusive New Zealand stockiest of designer fashion and accessories from labels like Victoria Beckham, Khaite, TIBI, Diane Von Furstenberg and more.
The store also has locations in Auckland’s Ponsonby Road and Teed Street as well as a boutique in Havelock North. It is currently also operating a short-term, pop-up boutique called MUSE Circular in Auckland’s Osborne Street, offering a selection of pre-loved clothing.
In an announcement Olivia Vincent Healy said she had been looking for a space in Arrowtown for ‘some years’ and was working with an architect to bring the new store to life.
MUSE Arrowtown is expected to open at 12/50 Buckingham St in the coming weeks.
