Aotearoa fashion label Marle has revealed it is extending into menswear.
The brand has made a name for itself with its timeless, modern classics and desirable knitwear since its launch in 2015.
Founded by Juliet Souter, the label has become a quiet achiever of NZ’s fashion scene and beyond, building a following for its garments that work seamlessly across a range of ages and styles. The winning combination, in our book, is a commitment to sticking with natural fibres, used in relaxed, minimalist designs. They always look effortlessly chic but crucially, feel comfortable too.
Now, a push into menswear is an exciting expansion for the NZ fashion label. A concise collection forms the first offering and the first glimpse reveals it fits beautifully into that established aesthetic.
Like the womenswear, the collection is made exclusively from natural fibres in earthy tones, using cotton, merino wool, cashmere and silk blends. Expect softly structured shirting, relaxed separates, outerwear and lightweight knitwear, designed to move easily between seasons.
Souter says she wanted to extend the wearability and longevity her women’s designs have become known for, to the men’s collection.
“For me, menswear was about extending the Marle wardrobe in a way that felt natural,” Souter shares of the development. “We focused on familiar everyday pieces, refined through fabric and subtle design details, with the intention that they become garments you return to again and again.”
The menswear range comes at an exciting time for the Mount Maunganui-based label, as it prepares for the opening of an Auckland boutique. The Newmarket store is the label’s first standalone space, after years of direct retail through its website and from a collection of dedicated stockists throughout NZ, Australia and the USA. It is expected to open next month.
The debut menswear collection will launch online on Thursday 20 August 2026, with selected pieces also available through Marle’s retail partners.
The collection will also be available at the new standalone store in Newmarket when doors open in September.
