Lush is no stranger to a limited-edition scented wonder that whips shoppers into a frenzy.
Its bath and body products use plenty of natural ingredients and captivating fragrances to make the job of getting clean a little more fun, which means when a new release drops, it can spark a viral moment.
The brand will be hoping the same is true of its latest soap, as it has a very special cause.
A new dolphin-shaped soap has been created to help raise funds for the Tāngaro Tuia te Ora Endangered Species Foundation, supporting their work in helping protect the incredibly rare Māui dolphin.
One of the world’s smallest and rarest dolphins, the Māui dolphin is only found off the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island. Now critically endangered, there are thought to be fewer than 50 left in the wild.

Inhabiting shallow coastal waters, numbers have dwindled largely due to environmental challenges, in particular the impact of commercial fishing practices such as bottom trawling. The practice drags heavy nets across the seafloor, destroying critical habitats and stirring up sediment that impacts food sources the native dolphins rely on.
Lush says the dolphin soap has been created to shine a spotlight on the issue, raising funds and encouraging support for a petition to ban bottom trawling in NZ.
Handcrafted with fresh lemongrass and bergamot oils, 75% of the sales price (excluding tax) of the soap will be donated to Tāngaro Tuia te Ora with the goal to raise $10,000 NZD to support their work in protecting endangered wildlife and advocating for stronger environmental protections in Aotearoa.
The soap, $12 each, is available now online or from Lush stores nationwide.
