The Marr Factory usually presents in-season spring/summer collections but last night fashion designer Kate Sylvester decided to mix things up and present autumn/winter 15 instead.
That makes her first off the rank to present an autumn/winter 15 collection ahead of New Zealand Fashion Week which kicks off on Monday (August 25).
Sylvester, who is also on the official Fashion Week schedule, showed her diffusion line, Sylvester, inspired by “bad ass lumberjacks”. Tough girls but feminine. Think plaid, axes, chainsaws, work wear, scout patches, camp fires and cabins!
The show opened with a model carrying a powered up chainsaw. Others followed carrying axes and pieces of wood.
Hair stylists from Stephen Marr used just one product on the hair – Original Mineral Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray.
The make-up look created for Sylvester by M.A.C’s Kiekie Stanners was a mix of beautiful skin and a greasy smokey eye, which summed up the feeling nicely.
