Highlights of the exhibition, which took place from 1-3 December, included two wax figures of Yayoi Kusama, created by the artist herself; a panda figure sculpture by Takashi Murakami on a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk; paintings by Richard Prince and Alex Katz; a photo by Jean Larivière; and the now iconic Artycapucines collection.
Exclusive new pieces from the Maison’s partnership with Kusama also featured, as a teaser of the upcoming collection and to mark the 10-year anniversary of the first collaboration.
Louis Vuitton has long had a close relationship to the arts, ever since Gaston-Louis Vuitton – the grandson of the Maison’s founder – began commissioning artists almost a century ago to collaborate with the Maison on advertisements and perfume bottles.
