Linda Evangelista has made a return to modelling.
The former supermodel has starred in a new campaign for Fendi, promoting a special fashion show in New York to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Fendi Baguette.
It marks her first return to modelling since she claimed a fat-freezing procedure left her “brutally disfigured”.
In September, Evangelista shared a lengthy post to Instagram detailing why she had been out of the spotlight, alleging the CoolSculpting cosmetic procedure had left her “permanently deformed”.
Evangelista said she had been diagnosed with Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), a rare side effect of cryolipolysis (fat-freezing) where the treated area becomes enlarged rather than reducing in size.
In September, Evangelista filed a lawsuit and sued CoolSculpting’s parent company, Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc., for $50 million in damages.
Just days after her modelling return, she revealed the lawsuit has been settled. The dollar amount of the settlement is unknown.
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive method of fat reduction, a popular alternative to liposuction.
In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, a spokesperson for CoolSculpting said the procedure “has been well studied with more than 100 scientific publications and more than 11 million treatments performed worldwide”.
The representative said rare side effects like PAH “continue to be well-documented in the CoolSculpting information for patients and health care providers”.
