Latest film from Miu Miu Women’s Tales

Italian fashion label Miu Miu has released the latest short film from its acclaimed Miu Miu Women’s Tales series.

Entitled Somebody, the film is directed by filmmaker, artist and writer Miranda July and takes a humorous look at social media culture and personal communication today.

The synopsis: Phone calls are awkward, email is old, texting is tacky. Wouldn’t it be nice to deliver messages verbally, face-to-face, even when you can’t (or don’t want) to be there?

Somebody is a hilarious and strangely poignant movie that introduces a radical new messaging system created by July. She brings together a mesmerising cast of characters (including July herself) who break up, make up, and even make love with this new technology.

Burberry trench gets a makeover

The iconic trench coat is at the heart of Burberry’s autumn-winter 2014 campaign but has been given a refresh to be produced in a brightly coloured hand-painted pattern as well as classic camel.

The campaign, shot by photographer Mario Testino, reflects the artistic spirit of the collection which launches globally in July. Styles include the lightweight trench, Chesterfields and cabans, sheepskin jackets and blanket ponchos, the Bloomsbury bag for women and St Ives bag for men decorated with one-off hand-painted artworks.
