Koala selfies at Widlife Sydney Zoo
Some curious koalas have been enjoying taking their own selfies at Wildlife Sydney Zoo this week.

It seem the selfie craze is not just taking the human world by storm – even animals are getting in on the self portrait action.

Three koalas from the Wildlife Sydney Zoo have become obsessed with a camera which was recently placed in their enclosure.

Triggered by the koala’s movements that camera takes images that are displayed on a  small screen nearby the enclosure for visitors of the zoo.

“It was great to do something where the koalas themselves get to own their moment in the spotlight”, Kylie Hackshall, Keeper at Wildlife Sydney Zoo told reporters, adding that:“The majority of Wildlife Sydney Zoo visitors either take photos of or with the resident koalas.”

According to her the resident koalas didn’t need much coaxing to strike a pose when the camera  was introduced into their Sydney Zoo enclosure a few weeks ago.

“They were very interested – they gave the camera a few sniffs and that was it. Koalas are quite intrigued by new things and new smell.”
