Kiwis encouraged to ‘Bake It Better’ for Starship

BAKE IT BETTER FOR STARSHIP - Caitlin
Kiwis are being called upon to Bake it Better for Starship children’s hospital, despite the Bake Month fundraiser being postponed.

May was meant a month when bakers from all over New Zealand would get out into the community and sell their baked goods to raise money for the Starship Foundation.

While COVID-19 has meant Bake Month is postponed, New Zealanders are still encouraged to use their time at home to bake, donate and share their creations on social media.

Whether you’re a child or young-at-heart, a pro baker or a complete novice, you can sign up at www.bakeitbetter.org.nz, create a donation page and start baking.

Post your pictures and videos on social media, and direct friends, family and fans of your baking to your fundraising page.

Money raised will help provide urgent specialist care, life-saving equipment, and deliver better health and brighter futures for children. Despite the country slowing down, there are still broken bones to mend, long-term conditions to treat and life-saving surgeries to perform.

Starship provides family-centred care to children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific, managing around 130,000 patient visits each year.
