From how to make a space feel larger, to choosing a colour palette, to understanding materials and textures, the course is designed to help everyday lovers of interior design create spaces with confidence.

- Modify furniture. “Try have furniture pieces up on legs,” says Wearstler.
- Tricks with glass. Choose a coffee table with glass to create the feeling of more space.
- Play with paint. High-gloss paint can also expand a place as it “adds reflectiveness and dimension,” she says.
