The Duchess of Cambridge has shared a new portrait of her son, Prince George, to celebrate his 9th birthday. Taken during a family beach holiday earlier this month, the photo shows the young royal relaxed and all smiles wearing a blue polo shirt.
“George is turning 9!” read the caption, with a birthday cake and balloon emoji.
Following in his parent’s footsteps, Prince George has been busy the past few months with a number of royal engagements, joining his parents on a visit to Cardiff to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, as well as at the Wimbledon Men’s Singles Final, where he looked quite grown up in a suit and tie.
Royal fans were quick to point out that George is the spitting image of his father, Prince William in the birthday portrait. “He’s looking so much like his daddy these days,” said one commentator.
George’s recent royal appearances are sure to become more frequent as the third in line to the throne gets used to his royal duties, while also keeping busy attending school at Thomas’s School in Battersea.
