A Hungarian journalist who was the subject of international outrage after she was filmed tripping a Syrian refugee now intends to sue the man she targeted.
Petra Laszlo, a camera operator, was sacked from her N1TV job after the footage was shared hundreds of thousands of times, but, according to a Russian newspaper, she will now sue Osama Abdul Mohsen, 52, for changing his testimony after initially blaming the police.
She also threatened to sue Facebook.
“We [her and her husband] believe Facebook played a major role in my situation. It helped embitter people against me,” Laszlo told Izvestia.
Laszlo had initially apologised for the incident in which she is shown tripping Mohsen, who is carrying his sever-year-old son, Zaid.
Mohsen and his son have since moved to Spain where they were offered help, and the chance to join a footballing academy, in Madrid.
