Jonathan Anderson Continues To Add His Own Surprising Spin To Dior Menswear
For his second men's collection at Dior, creative director Jonathan Anderson continued to breathe new life into the French fashion house's signature codes.

His debut collection was marked by playful reimagining of proportions. For the autumn/winter 2026 men’s collection Anderson ran with an unexpected merging of elegant and edgy influences that somehow came together beautifully.

Anderson again drew on historical references for inspiration, namely the late French designer Paul Poiret’s influence on style back in the day. A master couturier during the first two decades of the 20th century, Poiret’s was known for pushing fashion forward, breaking couture’s established conventions and subverting others.

Dior’s show notes highlight Poiret’s fluid forms and his use of clothing references from North Africa, the Middle East and East Asia, unexpected at the time.

Similarly, Anderson’s new designs on the runway in Paris a pulled together surprising and seemingly contradictory ideas: the codes of formality, Dior tropes, echoes of Paul Poiret, denim and parkas.

Masculine tailoring meet feminine draping and opulent sequins, full dress meets hints of undress: suits, lavallière shirts, waistcoats, and long johns instead of trousers.
