The Estée Lauder Companies Pink Star Walk is a chance to dress up in pink and join in the fun of walking under the stars while raising money and awareness for a great cause.
It’s the second year for the event where participants have the option of walking 5km, 10km or 21km.
All money raised for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation from this year’s Pink Star Walk will fund breast cancer research and support seven women a day diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. Money is raised through registering for the event.
Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) Campaign is proud to support the Pink Star Walk. The BCA Campaign was founded in 1992 by the late Mrs. Evelyn H. Lauder with the mission to defeat breast cancer through education and medical research. It is now active in more than 70 countries and has raised more than $53 million to support global awareness, research, education and medical services; with nearly $42 million funding research projects worldwide over the past 20 years.
The 2014 theme “Let’s Defeat Breast Cancer. We’re Stronger Together” is a call to action so what better excuse than to get dressed up and walking. If you don’t want to walk you can help in other ways but assisting as a marshall or cheer squad.
Dates for the Pink Star Walks are:
Wellington – 4 October at 6pm from Frank Kitts Park
Auckland – 11 October at 6pm from Auckland Domain
Christchurch – 18 October at 6pm from Hagley Park
