Dozens of women have strolled the red carpet at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival over the past week, dressed in their finest and looking the picture of glamour. Yet two of our favourite actresses, veterans Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren, stole the limelight.
The two stars looked radiant as they posed for photographs on the red carpet. Fonda, 80, wore a stunning black Givenchy gown with fringing details and sequins. Mirren, 71, wore a dramatic blue velvet Elie Saab dress with sweeping sleeves. Both women were the definition of elegance and were clearly enjoying themselves.

Fonda was at the festival to promote her new autobiographical documentary Five Acts, which traces her journey into Hollywood, passion for activism, various relationships and more. In a recent interview on The Ellen Show, Fonda reflected on her gratitude for reaching 80. “I thought I’d die lonely and probably from alcohol,” she admitted. “Everyday I get up and I want to pinch myself. I feel very blessed, but I’ve worked for it.”
Mirren has several upcoming films, including The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, in which she stars alongside Keira Knightley, and The Good Liar, in which she stars alongside Ian McKellan.
