Israeli airstrike kills 2 in Syria
An Israeli warplane has struck a Syrian military base near Masyaf.

A Syrian military factory near Masyaf has been struck by Israeli warplanes, destroying resources and leaving two dead.

The bombing targeted a research base thought to produce advanced missiles and chemical weapons, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. Earlier this week, the Syrian government was accused by the United Nations of using chemical weapons in the April Khan Sheikhoun attack. The incident killed a number of people and hospitalised others.

During Syria’s six-year civil war, the country has been hit multiple times by Israeli forces. The Syrian military issued a warning in their statement, declaring that there would be “dangerous repercussions of this aggressive action to the security and stability of the region.”
