Inside the Issue: MiNDFOOD March 2026

Inside the Issue: MiNDFOOD March 2026
Welcome to the March issue of MiNDFOOD. This month's magazine is our wellness special, delving into new ideas, inspiration and innovations designed to to help us live more healthy and fulfilling lives.

Gracing our cover this month is actress Amanda Seyfried, star of Mamma Mia, Les Misérables and The Housemaid.

She talks candidly about her life and about her latest role portraying early feminist and religious leader Ann Lee in The Testament of Ann Lee. Mother to a daughter and a son, Seyfried reflects on feminism as both a personal stance and a collective responsibility.

“We are still seeing too many male-everything,” she says, “but if you feel that you have a spot at the table like everyone else, you’re a feminist. There were always people that stood their ground through history, it was just whether it was more dangerous than other times. We should never stop standing our ground as women to be seen and to be treated equally: in business and everything else.”

In our community section we travel to Japan to uncover tome-zuki, the ancient art of traditional papermaking, where patience, precision and heritage are woven into every sheet.

In health, Psychologist Dr Renée Bazley takes a compassionate and clear-eyed look at problem drinking, examining the reasons it can develop and what meaningful support and change can look like. From there, we turn inward, with thoughtful guidance on how to accept, and even celebrate our imperfections; and a practical feature on tinnitus that offers clarity, understanding and hope for those living with constant noise. What are the 5 ancient Tibetan poses practised to improve vitality and longevity? We show you how to achieve them, and explain their role in improving your physical, mental and spiritual health.

Beauty takes centre stage in our Future Beauty special, where we look ahead to what’s shaping the next era of skincare, aesthetics and self-expression. The beauty landscape is being redefined as a new era of regenerative, preventative and biologically attuned products and treatments arrive, coinciding with desires to simplify, slow down and connect with long-term benefits and longevity. We outline what to expect in the beauty sphere in 2026 and beyond.

On the design front, we open the doors to a spectacular five-storey home with a James Bond pedigree, a space that blends cinematic history with striking contemporary living.

In Postcard, our Wellness Travel Special journeys through Bali, Bangkok and Koh Samui, exploring restorative experiences and destinations that nourish body, soul and mind; while our river cruise section drifts through Europe and beyond, revealing slow, scenic ways to see the world from a fresh perspective.

For INSEASON inspiration as we move into autumn, we dive into the art of fermentation, empowering home cooks with skills that transform simple ingredients; and share globally inspired mince dishes that are comforting, clever and endlessly adaptable.

And as always, we have hours of puzzling and crossword fun to keep your brain in tip-top shape.

It’s all in the March issue of MiNDFOOD, on sale 2 February in New Zealand and Australia. Available in stores and online at mindfood.com/shop
